ANCHORAGE, ALASKA --

Bill Pinkham left Koyuk just after 9 a.m. on his way to Elim with 10 dogs. The 48-year-old Glenwood Springs musher dropped one dog in Kaltag for unknown reasons. Pinkham is currently in 32nd place, which he has held for several days. The most experienced of the Colorado mushers, Pinkham finished 37th in 2003, 33rd in 2004, 42 in 2005 and 40th in 2006.

Pinkham and his team have taken both mandatory rest periods. Koyuk is 123 miles from the finish line in Nome.

Colorado's other two mushers, Butch Austin and Lachlan Clarke both scratched early in the race.
